sandpit

We had big project planned this weekend – putting in a new sandpit.  Previously we have had a small box-type sandpit, but now we have upgraded to a huge sandpit with all the space a kid could need.  And it doubles as soft fall for our fort
You might remember me writing about experience gifts a short while ago, well this sandpit was a birthday gift from my sons from their grandparents.

We’re not quite finished.  For example, we still have to put the fort back in place, but it’s finished enough for a bit of a play …

That is one amazing sandpit. I can imagine hours and hours of fun in there.
Wow, that is some sandpit! I guess the sand getting wet isn't a problem in your climate, but what about animal pee and poo? We're forever having to chase cats off our bathtub sandpit we have.
Can I just say - WOW! Will you post pics when it is all done?
That isn't a sandpit, I think that much sand must qualify as a beachfront! Just need a deck chair, umbrella and a cocktail and you'll be set, Cat :)

Zoe, I now know a lot about types of sand and the important thing is to get a type of sand that doesn't clump together when it gets wet. We don't have a lot of roaming dogs and cats where we live, so I'm not worried about that. The biggest problems are likely to be leaves and ants.
