Lego Heroes Moviemaker
At the moment, my sons are deeply immersed in an obsession with all things Lego, Star Wars and electronic. So, while trying to think of creative things to occupy us during the school holidays, it occurred to me that we should try some movie-making with their Lego. I was thinking of stop-motions (although I didn’t know the name at the time). After a discussion with +Susan Stephenson (also known as the Book Chook) I decided to try the Lego Heroes Movie Maker app.
Instant hit!
Here is a little demo video on Vimeo explaining how the app works. It is simple to use.
And here are the very first movies made by my 4 and 7 year old sons, with minimal input from me. They are very short and obviously, there is room for improvement in set design and camera use.
My sons favourite part of this app was the ability to add music and comic captions to their movies.
Have you tried stop-motion with your children?

I wanted to mention a new LEGO comic builder your kids will enjoy - the LEGO DC Universe Superheroes comic builder. I'm writing about it for The Book Chook, but wanted to give you a head's up. http://dcuniversesuperheroes.lego.com/en-us/ComicBuilder/FramePage.aspx
